CFE, ECG and EGIAN send letter to the Council and EC regarding DAC6

Wim Gohres, Chair of the CFE Professional Affairs Committee, on behalf of CFE Tax Advisers Europe, recently co-signed a letter with the European Contact Group (ECG) and the European Group of International Accounting Networks and Associations (EGIAN) sent to the Council Secretariat of Working Party IV, a working group of the European Council formed to discuss the application of the Council Directive EU/2018/822 amending Directive 2011/16/EU, as regards mandatory automatic exchange of information in the field of taxation in relation to reportable cross-border arrangements (“DAC6”).

The letter aimed to express the full support for the initiative taken by Working Party IV to discuss the application of DAC6 in its meeting of 24 September 2018 and setting out CFE’s, ECG’s and EGIANS’s enthusiasm concerning the possibility of a workshop taking place between EU Member States, the European Commission and stakeholders.
